Your door control software logs each member visit. Tell your door control to write one line to a plain text file each time a member enters. Or, export the door control log to a plain text file once a day. Drop a copy of the door control log into your TFW Data Folder (such as c:\TFW Data). That can be done any number of ways. You may have TFW on one computer and your door control software on the same computer, or on different computers. If separate computers, you may have the two connected by local network, or not connected to one another at all, or both connected to the Internet. Any of these arrangements will work nicely. Don't worry if the log for one day overlaps the log from the previous day. TFW knows enough to read the new log from the date and time where it left off last time. Name the log file with a name you can re-use each time. "DoorLog.txt" for example, rather than "Log March 22". Each time you drop a copy of the log file in this TFW folder, the new copy should overwrite the previous copy with the same name. 1. Select: Tab: Attendance
2. Mark the checkbox "Get attendance statistics from door control log."
4. The three numbers under "In Each Log Line" tell TFW Members
where to find the member ID, date, and time in your standard log line. They give a column number, or number of characters to skip. The defaults are 45 for ID, 14 for date, and 25 for time. These were derived from an Isonas log. If you use another model of door control, or if Isonas changes their standard log format, adjust for the difference here. Notice date and time (at 14 and 25) come ahead of ID (at 45) in the Isonas log line. No problem. Last Modified 2008-03-25 |
