These settings apply to your entire location. You may need to match these to the laws and regulations of your state or region.
Do your memberships expire after a time, or only when you cancel them? If after a time, specify that New Agreements "Expire Unless Renewed" (above). If only when canceled, specify that "Payments Continue". Some states don't allow an open-ended membership, where you may charge a member until the member cancels. Those states require you to get a new contract from the member each year (New York) or every two or three years. For those states specify that New Agreements "Expire Unless Renew" (above). Use Auto-Renew if Renewable if your memberships expire but are usually renewed. In effect, memberships expire and renew automatically until canceled. You may still need a new signature from an auto-renewed member. If your memberships expire after a time but can be renewed, specify how many days the member has to renew an expired membership. After that grace period, you might require a new membership and different terms. Set the length of the grace period as Renew Days Late. Set the Sales Tax rate in your area if you want tax calculated automatically for memberships and merchandise. Last Modified 2007-08-24 |
