Useful when...
- you backup your computer
- you replace your computer
- your computer fails
- computers at two locations share settings (some or all)
- two locations under TFW Multi-Location share settings (some or all)
Case 1: Backup
Under Help look for Settings File. Under Export, press the Export button. This writes a file named Settings.txt to your TFW Data Directory (whatever folder you chose for that). Don't leave it there. It has sensitive information.
Put that settings file with your database backups for TFW. You'll need these settings when sooner or later you lose or replace that computer.
Case 2: Where old and new locations share some settings:
Copy the settings file and remove settings you don't want to transfer.
Don't edit your only copy this way. Make an additional copy first, with a new name. SettingsForPaymentech.txt for example.
Use a plain editor like NotePad, not Microsoft Word.
At the new location reverse the procedure:
Under Help look for Settings File. Under Import, press the Browse button and find the file. Then press OK.
Don't leave this file around either. Delete it or secure it.
