Alliance ACH: Trouble Connecting

Either you have:

  • wrong settings for "AllianceInternet" in TFW (web address, user ID, password)
  • Internet connection blocked by firewall security
  • AllianceACH server is temporarily unavailable

If your settings are new, see XML Settings for Web Service.

If your settings have worked before, they probably don't need changing.  Probably your firewall is blocking this particular Internet connection.  Firewall settings can be tightened without your knowledge through an automatic security update.

Try this test.  In your browser, enter:

    https://gateway.allianceach.com/requester/request.aspx

A successful connection should return something like this:

        This XML file does not appear to have any style
        information associated with it.
        The document tree is shown below.

       <?xml version="1.0" ?>
    − <AACHRequest>
      − <ResponseSummary>
           <Error>True</Error>
           <Message>Empty XML Request</Message>
          <RequestCount>0</RequestCount>
          <SuccessCount>0</SuccessCount>
          <FailCount>0</FailCount>
          <TimeStamp>5/5/2006 7:37:10 AM</TimeStamp>
          <ExecuteTime>0.34375</ExecuteTime>
       </ResponseSummary>
     </AACHRequest>

For a more thorough test, enter Alt-A from your keyboard (hold down Alt and then press a) where you would otherwise press Send to send payments to AllianceACH.  You will get one of the following messages:

    Error: Create Request
    Error: Send Request
    Error: Receive Response
    Error: Response Status Code
    Successful connection test: logon, request, and response
