Automatic Software Updates: Add Your New TFW Software

If you get new TFW software and have already installed FolderShare, open the FolderShare menu and  click My FolderShare.  Your web browser then takes you to your FolderShare account on the web.  Your TFW Product updates are listed there as "Libraries", under the three blue buttons Sync..., Share..., and Access....

Look for your new TFW software under My Libraries, and click "Add/Remove Devices" beside the new one.  If you don't see it, EMail Us and and ask for the "invitation" as FolderShare calls it.

FolderShare says "Device" for the folder on your computer where these TFW update files go.

Make a new folder.  Don't reuse a folder.  Each TFW software product has its own folder.  This update folder is different from the folder where your TFW software is installed.  Don't point FolderShare at a folder you already have, or already use for something else.  Make a new folder each time.

Call the new folder TFW Terminal Updates, for example, just under Local Disk C (c:).  I like to put all such folders under a folder called TFW Updates, but that's a matter of taste.  Some people put these folders directly on the desktop.  Don't worry about finding them later.  The blue-and-yellow FolderShare F will find them for you and take you directly to them, wherever you put them.

Example:

  c:\TFW Updates\TFW DD
  c:\TFW Updates\TFW CC
  c:\TFW Updates\TFW Payments
  c:\TFW Updates\TFW Terminal
  c:\TFW Updates\TFW Data Vault

You may also step out of the FolderShare page for a moment and create that new folder with Windows and My Computer.

Once you point FolderShare to your new folder and click OK, FolderShare will begin to fill that folder with program update files from TFW.  Give FolderShare some time to finish (some Internet time of its own) before you use this folder.

Where do you find the FolderShare menu?   Look for a blue-and-yellow F in the system tray at the lower right corner of your screen, near the clock.  Click that for the FolderShare menu.

Don't see a blue F there?  Try Start >> All Programs >> FolderShare.  When FolderShare starts, tell it to start automatically each time you start the computer.   See To Install the Automatic Software Update Service.
